Concrete Sam & Their Llama
February 22, 2008
Music’s mainly punkrock. They make their own materials. Dont ever mistake them for mainstream off the mill bands nowadays because they make real good music. My fondest recollection of this was when their drummer, Don Santarinala, and I was still working together in e-Telecare. He said that in one of their gig they were introed as "The Concretesam Band" by the host. I also remember him giving each of us in the Team the lyrics of one of their single titled: Hina ng loob (Low self-esteem ). We sang that song till we got to Batangas. Really fun to remember how they were a struggling band then. I remember Donnie after sleepless days, juggling night-shifts and band practice/gigs — one tired llama hehe. Fast forward to their first EP, Same Old Game. My favorite cut, which was also featured in BURN Mag’s CD, is Kandila. I love both live and acoustic version of it. Kami nAPO Muna Ulit features Concrete Sam with the song "Heto Na". To vote for their song and video at MYX sms: MYX VOTE HETO NA send to 2366.

Regine Velasquez Stays With GMA
February 21, 2008
WTF! Regine are you nuts?! You are my number 1 singing idol! I expected more from you.
I never really heard of rumors that Regine is moving to ABS CBN, but I closely follow here career to know that there’s something wrong going on.
First, she is not part of GMA’s newest singing contest. She has hosted 2 in GMA in the past. Why remove her when she’s Asia’s Songbord, I bet she know alot about what it takes to make it bigtime in the music industry. Alright, why not ask her to be a judge, she joined hundreds of amateur singing contests so she knows what judges are looking for in a singer. But GMA didn’t roll the ball that way for her. She’s left with her shitty singer-co hosts in SOP. Her only regular show in GMA.
Second, she’s recently making guestings in ABS CBN shows. She performed in SHARON. She plays a character role in Malaala Mo Kaya. She’s been a target of publicity stints in The BUZZ. Things that made me realize that her transfer to a different TV network is in the works.
And I wasn’t wrong, February 17 in a tabloid, it has been confirmed by her cam she’s moving. That same day she sang in SOP crying! Is it the unfair treatment from GMA? Her offer to work in ABS CBN is so lucrative, no one in his right mind would turn down. It was all at the right timing. Since Regine’s planning her retirement in singing, why not end it with a bang. ABS CBN has enough resources to alunch her albums globally. They can promote concerts for her abroad. They can give her all the show that she wants. It was a no brainer.
And then lo and behold. WTF! Philippine Entertainment Portal reported that she signed back to GMA. End of story. I’m extremely disappointed with Regine’s handlers. Goodluck Regine! I’ll still support you.
